ANDERSON, DAVE
I Wrote Future Shocks for 2000AD throughout the 1990s and in 1992 created the Bastard Bunny comic along with Martyn Smith. I wrote the stories, Martyn did the art. Bastard Bunny moved into Deadline Magazine, home of Tank Girl, and then into NME.
The bastard Bunny character became strongly associated with dance music - stories in the comics were often based in London clubland - like the infamous queue to get into Love Ranch. DJs and punters often featured. The BB production team shared offices with Andrew Weatherall and the Sabres of Paradise record label.
Merchandise like T-Shirts and Lop Ear hats became prominent on London club scene at places like Sabresonic, Love Ranch, Back to Basics and Club Dog. In 1994-97, with Martyn Smith I produced Keith and Hamish cartoon strip that was included in Loaded magazine at the height of its pulling power.
In 1999 I became a partner in 12Foot6 animation company. 12Foot6 makes adverts and TV programmes like Modern Toss (Channel 4), Dog Judo (Channel 4) and in 2008 was nominated for a BAFTA for The Sensibles and Jetix. Currently developing dog judo for Nickelodeon and producing various TV ads.
